United Kennel Club 125 Years

High Plains Kennel Club is a non-profit, all-breed dog club dedicated to the love and care of purebred dogs, serving the Douglas County area.

The focus of our club is to promote the responsible ownership of companion dogs and the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs.

As a member club of the United Kennel Club, our club hosts sanctioned matches and dog shows under the rules and regulations of the UKC.

  • November in Lexington, KY: The Total Dog Invitational runs Nov 11–13, open to qualified dogs only, with a $10,000 grand prize. The Southeast Classic follows Nov 14–15 at the Kentucky Horse Park and is itself a Total Dog Invitational qualifier. Entries for both close October 12, 2026. Invitational Southeast Classic
  • Dock Jumping Updates: UKC has added a Small Dog Division for dogs under 16 inches at the withers, and a new timed “Raider Run” event where dogs race out and bring back a bumper. Read More
